I'm not pregnant!!
It seemed to take forever, but I'm not pregnant anymore, which is quite a relief, I was getting hugely swollen..

This is the morning my water broke...Tuesday, September 26th at 7am.
From there it was a longggg journey, in which I stayed at home labouring and being occationally monitored by my midwife. Jeremy was there for me the whole time and my mother was there sometime in the afternoon of the 26th.
After what seemed forever, we finally had to transport to the hospital at 12pm Wednesday, September 27th. I had planned to birth at home, but my midwife had two other ladies in labour at the same time so we all were at the hospital.
Once at the hospital, I was given Oxytocin(sp?) to help the contractions because I was "stuck" at 8 cm for a long time. Unfortunately, this drug made the contractions much more painful, and I had to have constant fetal monitoring. Close to midnight on Wednesday, I was finally allowed to start pushing and I pushed for about half an hour to an hour when they decided to check me again and found that the baby had not dropped down into the birth canal and also I had been pushing against part of my cervix which means..I was not fully dialated and had waisted a whole lot of energy I barely had..not to mention that because I pushed against the cervix, it became swollen.
My midwife was unable to determine position of the baby and called an OB for a second opinion. He also was unable to determine position because Jacob was so far up.
They asked me to fight the pushing urges and breathe through it (which was very hard!) and gave me the option of either having an epidural which might, but not deffinately bring the baby down, or to go for a C-section. As it had already been a long, long time, I was exhausted and completely ready for a c-section. I know I did all I could do.
When they finally pulled Jacob out at 2:08am Thursday, September 28th, it became clear that there was no way he would have come out the other way, so it was good that I went for the C-section.
Jeremy announced that it was a boy and I got to look over and see him and the first words out of my mouth were "that's NOT a newborn!" When they gave him to his dad and they held him against me (since I was too frozen and too weak to hold him myself) I proudly told him his name, Jacob Uriah Muckle.
